Sheila received her B.A. in Art from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University. She believes in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship—one built on trust, authenticity, and connection. Her work is grounded in relational, systemic, humanistic, ecological, and contemplative perspectives, informed by Buddhist psychology and mindfulness-based approaches. Sheila specializes in grief and loss, addictive thinking, anxiety, and climate distress, working with individuals, couples, and family systems. She is a graduate of the Living School at the Center for Action and Contemplation and holds a 500-hour secular mindfulness teacher certification from the Engaged Mindfulness Institute. Additionally, Sheila serves as the South Carolina Regional Coordinator for the Climate Psychology Alliance–North America and on the organizing committee of the ACPE Eco-Psycho-Spirit Community of Practice.

Sheila is passionate about supporting people who feel the weight of personal crisis, the polycrisis, or a longing to live in deeper alignment with their values. She works with those seeking to reconnect with their inner lives, navigate transitions, and cultivate resilience and meaning in the midst of change. Her practice honors presence, compassion, and the interconnection between personal healing, the natural world, and collective well-being. Sheila believes that rediscovering our innate sense of aliveness and belonging is essential to both individual and societal transformation.

When not in session, she might be hiking, gardening, leading meditation, facilitating a Death Café, or sharing deep conversation and laughter with a good friend. She holds many identities and is proud to be a daughter, sister, friend, justice seeker, lifelong learner, bibliophile, animal lover, and ally.
